Busy January

So Tellie’s getting married in just over four months. The year is already starting with a lot of changes. It’s been eventful to say the least >.>
- Adopted a dog from the humane society
- Tellie is trying to buy a house very soon
- Tellie’s sister-in-law moved from IL to KS (here!)
- Grandma fell and nearly broke her neck
- Mom had one of two surgeries
…and January isn’t even over yet. Last night Bri and I met with our pastor and did our “biweekly marriage counseling” xD We’re only doing it because our pastor won’t marry us without having gone through the counseling with him. Basically, we meet at a pizza place called “CiCi’s”, have dinner and work through two chapters of these workbooks. It’s not bad, just uneccesary in my mind.
Our pastor is cool though. He used to be my computer systems teacher in high school. His class was so awesome. At the end of the year, we all built a computer and played games like Unreal tournament and Call of Duty.
My brother got me into watching the anime Death Note. It’s pretty interesting. I love L–he’s by far my favorite–but I go into bouts of cheering Yagami Light on too >.>

Okay, so the tickets sold out before I could grab any. I was depressed yesterday.
TODAY my coworker Leslie and fellow lover of all that is Trans-Siberian Orchestra comes over and tells me they released 200 more tickets. *insert spasms of supreme joy here plz*
Brian couldn’t go with me. Mom didn’t want to spend the money BUT she offered to baby-sit Leslie’s kids o__o SO I CHECKED ONLINE AT SELECT-A-SEAT AND TICKETS ARE NOW $47.00 ;_;
I’d have paid the 37.00 but not 47.00 because I am poor and so is Leslie…
Why meeee….
In an effort to cheer myself up, I browsed LJ comms for fun things. I found Deleterius and was highly amused. Such good things to laugh at. This is what the comm is about:

So far, this made me laugh the most. And the then there was the amazon woman in some Harry Potter fanfiction.

AHH!1!! THE TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA IS PLAYING AT THE COLISEUM HERE IN WICHITA ON DECEMBER 7TH.
EEEE :D!
That is all. Apparently they were here last year as well but…I did not know this…
Hopefully I can get tickets. $37.00 isn’t too terribly bad.

Was talking to Tenshi and telling her how awesome Metallica and the Trans-siberian orchestra is.
Yeah, Metallica is rock and fucking brilliant, but you don’t have to blare the music to enjoy it. Turning the sound up just makes it even better. They’re not screaming to the point that you can’t understand them either. I don’t mind the screaming bands, but sometimes, I want to understand what they’re saying without looking at the lyrics xD God, they’re just so fantastic.
AND! The Trans-Siberian Orchestra? Also super god damn awesome. I mean, you got your classic orchestra PLUS electric guitars. How can you NOT love that? Their rendition of Beethoven’s 5th is sogreat. Their christmas music? *spasms with joy*
Metallica + Trans-Siberian Orchestra? EEEEE *insert rabid fangirling and much excited screaming*
Just…oooh sweet, sweet music. Rock and classical music were just meant to be.

Been having issues deciding what I want to write for NaNo. It was between redoing Gotterdammerung as fiction or going with a brand new story. Was talking with Tenshi last night on msn (before my internet died…AGAIN. ARGH.) and tried weighing my pros and cons. NEITHER STORY HAD MANY PROS xD
Buuut I do believe I’m going with the new story as Tenshi suggested.

Well, I read a book called The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield recently and I really enjoyed it. It’s a mystery/suspense book and a good one. Throughout the story I kept trying to guess things and I was never quite right. So yeah, she kept me guessing until the end. I hadn’t expected what actually did happen.
I really liked the characters Miss Winter and Margaret. I have to say that Aurelius was my favorite though. He’s one of those types that you just want to hug xD I tried guessing his story too…but didn’t get it exactly right =P
The night I picked that book up, I had seen another book that looked interesting. I kept it in mind and bought it the other day. It’s called The Nature of Monsters by Clare Clark. The title itself appealed to me at first glance. I’ve got an affinity for darker characters so I figured the book would be interesting.
It’s a very, very dark book. Not especially good for younger readers x3 Hell, the book opens with the main character touching herself, lol. I’m only half way through it due to time constraints but it’s both interesting and appauling at the same time. It’s set in the 1700’s and I think the author captures the mindset of the people pretty well.
The main character herself is interesting. She’s a lustful creature, but smart, rather willful and a little bit nefarious. All of that gets her in trouble though. Even more than she realized could get into. Can’t really say too much more without giving the story away.
